Things to do in January 2020 in San Diego

New Year, New Things to do! As if the holidays weren’t enough, we got a laundry list of things for you to do around town. Restaurant week is coming and so is the Carlsbad Marathon, great timing! There’s also festivals all across the county. From staring at stars in Borrego or San Marcos, bundling up for winter fest in Poway OR checking out the dino exhibits in Del Mar, there is plenty for you & the family to do this month. Check it out!

San Diego Brew Fest   Jan. 10

Another fun-filled day with beer, food trucks, and music. The event will feature dozens of local and international craft beers, as well as San Diego’s most popular food trucks!

Poway Winter Festival   Jan. 10-11

Feel snow between your fingers while sledding down the snow hill; smell roasting marshmallows as you devour delicious s’mores; experience the wind in your hair skating around the synthetic ice rink; and more! Lights will twinkle, as music sets the tone and laughter fills the air.

Explore Downtown Encinitas on South Coast Highway 101 via bike, on foot or other means of self powered transportation, FREE of cars! It is a Spanish term that means “Cycleway”.  It is the closing of certain streets to automobiles for a temporary time, in order to allow cyclists, skaters and pedestrians access to local businesses on open streets.

The parade is filled with dazzling floats, phenomenal High School Bands, Drill Teams, College, Fraternities & Sororities, Churches, Peace and Youth organizations. This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., the oldest African American fraternity in America, founded in 1906.

San Diego Restaurant Week   Jan. 19-26

For one week only, over 180 participating restaurants will offer three-course prix-fixe dinner menus for $20, $30, $40 or $50 per person and/or two-course prix-fixe lunch menus for $10, $15 or $20 per person. The participating restaurants span across the county from the South Bay to East County and to the borders of Oceanside and Fallbrook to the North and touch on all cuisine types and cravings.
