There are so many reasons. Technology in the real estate industry has evolved in the last few years. People expect you to be online, have web presence & engage in social media. But the missing piece to the puzzle is using technology “in” business. You’d be surprised how often we get faxes or scanned contracts with hand signatures. WHY? The tools we use to run a paperless brokerage are mostly free & relatively easy to use.
At 1850 Realty, we use tools like Docusign, Evernote, Dropbox & Transaction Rooms to run a streamline business. All these tools help us conduct business without ever having to print paper (save the trees!) & the best part, we can operate from our mobile devices. As productive professionals, work comes up at all hours of the day (seriously it’s hard to put the phone down sometimes) & if we had to sit in front of a computer to get our work done, not only would we lack efficiency we’d waste a ton of time. The idea of printing anything is absurd. Granted there are times when you can’t avoid it but we avoid it whenever possible.
Technology is important to us because it gives us the freedom of time. The time we save running a paperless business gives us the opportunity to spend time building relationships with our clients. It helps us raise the bar in this industry. To serve our clients at a high level & empower them with the information they need to make the best decisions. We work hard to earn our clients trust & technology allows us to be there available 24/7. We’re not suggesting working all day long but what we are suggesting is transparency. The ability for our clients to access important documents any time, any where from any device. The essence of our commitment is to provide a memorable experience, one that’s talked about (over a pint) when the topic of conversation leads to real estate.
Sure we love shiny objects, but that’s not why we tote our iPads everywhere we go. We do it as a matter of convenience, accountability & sustainability. So stop & think before you print that contract. Is it really necessary? It’ll end up sitting on your desk, file cabinet or better yet, in a recycling bin.
Our mission:
To build an inspired community of forward thinking real estate professionals who efficiently use technology to operate a paperless business which allows them the freedom of time to build & strengthen relationships with clients, friends & family.
