San Diego is calling you, and it’s leading you directly to the beautiful shoreline of homes for sale in Del Mar. It all began with three hundred and thirty-eight acres in 1885, and the landscape has never been the same since. A seaside resort for the rich and famous was turned into a massive and sprawling town, bursting with new industries and tourism.
Even the United States government recognized the value of the land and invested heavily in a Naval base facility for blimps during World War II. With the additional of sports facilities, recreational centers, poignant landmarks, and destination spots, Del Mar has become an eclectic town filled with amazing opportunities.
Some of the best luxury homes in all of California and the US can be found in Del Mar. Waterfront properties can be priced as high as $50,000,000! With a population around 4,000 people, it is a small community. Opportunities for new construction mean you need to buy your lot with a home that needs updating or scraping.
Those interested in golf will note that while Del Mar does not host any courses, world class opportunities exist at Torrey Pines and The Grand Del Mar. A dozen more public and private clubs are within a 15 minute drive.
