Yes, you read that correctly. First time buyers who get into contract before April 30th will be able to double dip into both the Federal Tax credit of $8000 & the newly instated CA tax credit of $10,000. The loop hole has not been shut out & may not be since the window of opportunity to take advantage of both is so small.
It’s totally possible to make it happen. You just need to be sure you have your bases covered & are ready to go. Not sure if you’re ready to go? Well as long as you haven’t deducted mortgage interest from your tax returns in the last three years, you are considered a first time buyer.
